The BioResilience Project: Nature Based Solutions for resilient landscapes in Trinidad and Tobago

PROJECT:

BioResilience – Nature based solutions for resilient landscapes in T&T.

AIM:

The BioResilience Project works towards nature positive development actions that halt current land degradation trends and support biodiversity, while providing resilience against long term climate change impacts.

PARTNERS:

This is a US $3.5 million Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded project over the next 4 years.  The Ministry of Planning, Economic Affairs & Development will spearhead coordination in collaboration with the FAO, with the execution led by the UWI, St. Augustine.

A BioResilience Project Inception Meeting was conducted with all partners and stakeholders in February 2026 at UWI to formalise the project’s overview, workplan and budget.

At its core, the BioResilience Project focuses on capacity building, stakeholder engagement and private sector involvement.  The Project will equip beneficiaries with tools and information needed to make informed decisions, adopt resilient practices and implement appropriate, sustainable land management practices in T&T.
