Technical Co-operation Unit (TCU)
Ms. Vidia Ramkelewan, is the Head of the Technical Co-operation
Unit.
The Unit serves as the national focal point for interfacing with
Governments, Regional and International agencies on technical
co-operation and facilitating technical exchanges toward sustainable
development.
Core Functions
- Formulate programmes/projects of a technical co-operation
nature in accordance with policy directives, the Medium Term
Planning Framework, Sectoral Plans and other Government
Policies, thus ensuring compatibility with national development
priorities;
- Assess the demand for and supply of technical co-operation
to contribute to meeting the priority needs of the country;
- Provide information on technical co-operation opportunities
to public sector agencies and civil society;
- Access all possible sources of technical co-operation to
meet identified needs;
- Co-ordinate among donor agencies to ensure that there is no
overlap of technical co-operation initiatives and to minimize
gaps;
- Ensure that national priorities are advanced by technical
co-operation initiatives; and
- Facilitate Technical Co-operation between Trinidad and
Tobago and other developing countries (South-South Technical
Co-operation).
