Trinidad and Tobago and Spain work to intensify economic, educational and cultural ties

On July 12th , 2017, the Ministry of Planning and Developments' Deputy Permanent Secretary Ms. Marie Hinds, met with His Excellency Javier Carbajosa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago ; Mr. Antonio Perez Hernandez, Director General for Ibero-America; Mrs. Maria del Mar Fernandez Placios, Secretary General for the Caribbean and with Mr. Oriol Sola Pardell, Deputy Head of Consul.

The meeting was a continuation of a visit held on July 06th at our Ministry Head Office to pursue discussions on mutually collaborative interest areas and on Vision 2030.Topics of discussion centred on renewable energy, language and education and food security. The Spanish contingent also mentioned their commitment to a Trinidad and Tobago and Spain alliance through their many local cultural centres and possible linkages to the local innovation policy and agro-industry as a form of possible co-operation.
